Filoli…A Lovely Place! (Woodside)
Located in Woodside, CA off the 280 Highway, Filoli is an absolute dream. If you like nature or historical houses, you’re in luck because Filoli has both. We’ve been to Filoli countless times because it’s such a cool place to visit. Filoli was once a private residence, but it became public, and features over 600 acres of sheer botanical beauty.
There’s a mansion on site that often features themed exhibits, and wow, is it grand! The decor inside is gorgeous and well-maintained. We went during Halloween one time, and they managed to make it extra spooky and creepy. During the rest of the year, it’s a lovely house to explore. Holidays are an extra special time to visit Filoli, as they provide live entertainment, holiday decorations, food vendors and snacks such as hot chocolate, and a charming atmosphere.
The gardens are lush, vast, and plentiful all throughout Filoli. You can find beautiful flowers, towering trees, a beautiful pool, and interesting trails. Hours can be spent here as you explore the seemingly endless landscape. I enjoy wandering in the gardens, simply enjoying the scenery and taking in all the eye candy around me.
People of all ages enjoy Filoli. It’s perfect for field trips, a date night, a stroll with friends, and more. During the evenings, some special events like concerts or late evenings at the gardens occur. On site is a cafe and a cute little store where you can buy fun trinkets and all kinds of unique gifts.
Filoli is definitely on the top 10 list of places to go if you’re anywhere in the Bay Area. You could easily spend a couple of hours exploring and having a relaxing visit. Trust me; it’s worth a visit! And if you go, let me know what you enjoyed most.
